Wood's natural changes

Wood exposed to normal sunlight is subject to colour changes. As with all natural products made from wood, these changes are expected and add to the beauty and distinctiveness of wood floors.

If you move or rearrange carpets and furniture periodically, you avoid distinct lines between the exposed and unexposed areas of the floor. The swatches show the shades that different wood species will turn after 2–3 years' exposure to normal sunlight.

Ash:	Pale cream darkens to straw tan.
Bacu:	Yellows with time.
Beech:	Changes to pink/tan tones to amber.
Birch:	Changes from sanded tones to a more red/yellow colour as it ages.
Cherry:	Changes from pink hues to deeper red tones.
European Maple:	Becomes quite yellow.
Hard Maple:	Changes from cream white to golden cream.
Jarrah:	Darkening towards deeper red/red browns.
Jatoba:	Changes to bright red.
Merbau:	Darkening towards medium brown.
Oak:	Some muting of colour variation to medium, straw brown.
Red Oak:	Changes from pink to tan amber.
Rosewood:	Pink/reds become more red.
Teak:	Darkens slightly with time.
Walnut:	Changes to golden brown.
